The Rescue

The best little tuxedo cat in the world. Her mom started showing up on our deck in early May looking for food. Being cat owners we gladly fed her and she would return daily. One day I said to my husband I think she either is pregnant or nursing but if she has babies I haven't seen them. The next day we woke up in the morning to noise on our deck and sure enough there she was with 2 babies !! Later that day my husband calls me at work and says there's two more !! So we now have 4 babies and a mom cat !! I nick named the babies "mini oreros" as they were all black and white but I couldn't tell if they were male or female. One of the babies started looking listless and wasn't eating so we were determined to catch it and get it to the vet but they were quick. After careful timing on my husbands part he was able to catch her and get her to the vet, she was very sick and had a bad case of cat flu but we nursed her back to health and she became my husbands buddy, always following him around and sleeping with him everynight. We were only able to keep our angel with us for two years before she crossed over the rainbow bridge from saddle thrombosis. She was a great cat that knew how to catch and retrieve and loved to play jokes on the other cats. We will always miss her and the joy she brought to our lives.
