We adopted Rudy from the Adopt A Pet program at Pet Smart almost l5 years ago. Rudy was dumped in a box with a litter of pups- chow/retriever/shelty mix. During our visit, he fell asleep on my shoulder and I fell in love with him that moment. My son and my daughter couldn't wait to take him home. We bought him a bag of dogfood, a leash, a collar and a stuffed baby lamb toy (the first day). My husband came home and they became best buds ever since. Rudy was loved like a son, a brother and rarely treated like a pet. He protected us, rode in the car with us, rode on my bike trailer with me, camped, hoteled and most of all just loved to be with us all the time. Rudy left us with 3 dog beds in different rooms of the house, and a laundry basket full of stuffed animal babies and tons of photos. He almost made it to l5 years old, leading a pretty healthy life. We were so fortunate to have Rudy in our family and we appreciate AEC taking the care we had helping us when it came time to part from our beloved Rudy.
