In Memory of Monica

Monica is a purebred Himalayan cat. We rescued her when she was taken away from her previous home. She was used purely for breeding. They had her living in a barn and never groomed her. Animal control found her matted with her only food source being barn mice. We soon heard of her and immediately brought her home. We wanted nothing but to spoil her and make sure she was well fed with no worries in her life. Monica was a beautiful cat, she had hues of purple and brown in her grey and white fur. This made her a rare lavender point in her breed. She also had the biggest most gorgeous blue eyes on a cat that there could be. She was a very lively cat. Always she would be in your face wanting to snuggle or play. When ever someone would come home, there she was greeting you. Monica would run around and chase what seemed to be imaginary things. Monica would growl and try to hunt birds from our balcony. Typically this cat was the happiest laying in the warm sun and rolling in cat nip. One of her favorite kinds of toys were those little crinkle balls. She was the weirdest cat crawling and climbing into every little thing she could such as cabinets and dresser drawers. Her favorite thing was climbing on top of plastic grocery bags. We never knew why; maybe she like the sound or feel of them but we just knew she loved them and always provided them to her. We joked and called her The Dutchess Crinkles. She raised our two dogs, who to this day still act just like cats. Monica was their big sister and the three of them would run around playing together. When she got sick it all broke our hearts. She wasn't as spunky and sassy as she normally was. Monica brightened our lives and life would not have been the same without her. We are glad she isn't suffering anymore but we miss her terribly. She wasn't just a pet, she is a member of the family and will always be remembered.

Monica we love you, you will forever be in our hearts.
