We Will Miss You Forever
Our sweet cat Gabby was diagnosed with Cancer of the spleen in November 2014. Dr. Venema is the one who found the cancer and referred us to a surgeon in Burton, Mi. to have Gabs spleen removed. We would not know until after the surgery what type of cancer it was. Once the surgeon removed Gabby's spleen, we were told that her spleen had ruptured before surgery. That allowed all the cancer cells to spread through her abdominal cavity. The cancer was the worst possible kind, (Hemangiosarcoma) a very aggressive form of cancer, which is rare in cats. We were so heartbroken, but we decided we had to do all we could to save our baby. We started chemo, Gabs blood work kept coming back great, we thought, how wonderful that our Gabby may get to stay with us. Thank you God! Unfortunately, almost three months after the surgery, she became very lethargic. On February 15, 2015, we called Dr. Venema's assistant Debra and she contacted Dr. V for us. She said to bring her in, so my husband and I both knew this was the last drive we would have with our sweet baby. Once we arrived, Dr. V said it was time, I held my baby while she was given an injection. From that point on, our hearts are absolutely broken, my husband and I are so very lost without her. She was not a pet to us, she was our family. She had the greatest personality, she was beautiful, smart and the best friend we had. She brightened our lives on a daily basis. We were lucky to have had this little blessing for 11 years. We love you our sweet Gabriel and we long for the day we will all meet again. We all miss you and will for eternity. Thank you Dr. Venema , Debra and staff for giving us our baby for just a little longer, it was like being in heaven to have her for even one more day. You are both brilliant, intelligent and some of the kindest folks we have ever met in a very, very, long time. We love you for helping all of us try to get through this. Good bye Gabby our love. All our love baby girl, Dad, Mom and Sister Sass. The McCloskey Family
