Mya

Losing our bestfriend

Mya was my birthday gift from my husband Brian. We welcomed Mya and her brother Max into our family in November of 2010.They were both about six week old pittbulls, adorable and tiny. Some people are afraid of pitts but Mya was a gentle giant. She loved to give kisses.Playing with her brother was one of her favorite things to do.She was great with kids and when we brought our new born son home in April she guarded him and would come running to the sound of his cries.Mya was our bestfriend. We thought we would have many years with her.Aug 12th we noticed Mya wasnt very active and she refused to eat.On Aug 13th Brian took my to the vet that morning there was no certain answer to what was happening weith her, they thought perhaps she was having kidney issues,so they sent her home with meds. She was really dehydrated so they injected saline in her neck that was suppose to flow down her body.So Mya came back home she just layed here eyes closed exhausted. After sitting by herside listening to her cry we knew something was really wrong. We decided to taker to the Novi emergency animal hospital. After giving her more fluids and taking more blood tests. We learned she was having kidney failure and it would be very hard to bring her back to health. The worse moments were standing over her unconcious body and knowing that we hadto let her go. We thank the staff of Novi animal hospital for caring for our bestfriend. .....The Haluscsak family
